Announcement 12/08/2024

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of Real Not Rare. We have also canceled the planned transfer of ownership. This decision has not been made lightly, but it has become clear that this is the best path forward for everyone involved.

Over the past few years, Real Not Rare has served as a platform for vaccine-injured individuals to share their stories, connect with others, and amplify their voices. Despite my own health challenges, I have poured my heart into this project because I believed in its mission to make the vaccine-injured community feel seen and heard. If my team and I have helped even one person through this platform, then every effort has been worth it.

I want to clarify that I approached VacSafety.org (VSRF) about transferring Real Not Rare to them. VSRF’s intent was to keep Real Not Rare alive to benefit the vaccine-injured community by promoting its stories, maintaining the platform, and ensuring its mission endured – without financial gain. This would have enabled the website to go on, and for me to step away and focus on my full recovery.  VSRF is managed by individuals I trust deeply – people who have fought tirelessly for truth and transparency regarding vaccine safety.

Unfortunately, misinformation and rumors about the future of Real Not Rare and the integrity of its data have caused distress within the community. While these rumors are untrue, the harm they cause is undeniable.  While you have trusted me to run Real Not Rare for many years, it seems this trust does not extend to its transfer to new ownership. I have to respect the feelings of the vaccine-injured community and honor their wishes.

As many of you know, I have been navigating my own health challenges since my vaccine injury. Running Real Not Rare has been both a mission and a labor of love, but it has also taken a toll on me personally. After reflecting on my own need to focus on healing, combined with the challenges of recent weeks, I have decided that shutting down Real Not Rare is the most responsible and respectful way to move forward.

To clarify two important points:

  1. I have not and will never sell anyone’s personal data. The safety and respect of everyone who trusted me with their story has always been my top priority.

  2. There will be no transfer of ownership. After careful reflection, I have decided to shut down Real Not Rare entirely.

If you have shared your story on Real Not Rare, you can request a copy of your submission by emailing me at vaxlonghaulers@gmail.com. I encourage you to consider sharing your story on one of the many platforms dedicated to amplifying vaccine-injured voices.

A CALL FOR KINDNESS AND UNITY

This journey has shown me how vital it is for our community to stay united, even when we disagree from time to time. Every organization and person fighting for the vaccine-injured deserves kindness, and each one serves a unique purpose. We are all striving towards the same goals: vaccine safety research, injury treatment, compensation, among others.

I urge everyone to give the benefit of the doubt before speculating, speak encouragement to one another, and stay focused on what truly matters. We are stronger together, and trust within our community is essential.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Please know that you are not alone. A strong and supportive network of vaccine-injured individuals and advocates continues to fight for change and offer connection. There are many groups still available to provide support and encouragement.

THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who shared their story, supported this platform, and stood together during this journey. You have made an incredible impact and your voices have changed lives. While Real Not Rare is coming to an end, I hope you will continue to advocate, raise awareness, and share your stories wherever you can.

As for me, I will continue to focus on my healing, and share my voice through my music. Writing and singing have been healing for my soul, and I hope that my music continues to bless each and every one of you.
