Q: What was your life like before you got the vaccine?
I was a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor with three kids who loved my life. I went to hot yoga, the gym, and hiked as often as possible. I spent my weekdays working 40 hours in a multi-disciplinary health clinic, and my weekends and evenings racing my kids to sports game and dance competitions. I was on the go all day long from 7am to 11pm in typical mom-fashion caring for my family and running my home.
Q: What was your reaction, symptoms, & timeline?
My reaction occurred within 25 minutes of my vaccine, I was in my car about to leave the school where I had my shot when tongue started to go slack, my face went number l and I had hives down my face and neck. I went back into the school to get help and as I sat down I lost full control of my limbs. I was transported to the hospital and given an epi and Benadryl and sent home. I returned the following day when my symptoms returned and received the same treatment and was kept overnight. From there my condition worsened, I could no longer turn my head to one side and had severe pain in my neck, jaw and head. I spent another week in the hospital after having a seizure-like episode in my kitchen four days after my previous hospital visit. I underwent various tests and examinations that all came back clear. 8 months later I am still battling multiple symptoms such as convulsions, blurred vision, swollen lymph nodes, migraines, nausea, severe overall body pain, hair loss, and much more. I also received a PET/SPECT scan that confirmed damage to my brain in multiple areas and demyelination.
Q: What is your life like now, after getting the vaccine?
My life now is spent on my sofa. I am unable to complete normal day to day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, driving, or helping my kids with their homework. I am taking so many medications I cannot keep them straight. My body will not allow me to exercise or be active without pain or hours afterwards convulsing on my couch or in bed. I barely leave my house unless for medical appointments. I have severe depression and am constantly concerned for my health. My children no longer have access to the mother I was before this happened, and I mourn the loss of my old life every day.
Q: Share your experience with any medical care and any diagnoses you have received:
I am blessed to have a very helpful Functional Medicine Doctor who has helped me since the beginning. However, he is limited in what he can do for me based on my injury and the depth of the unknown surrounding it. My experience with health care workers in hospitals, including neurologists and other specialists, has been appalling. I am treated as an addict, or told I have anxiety, and dismissed.
Q: Was your reaction reported, and what was the response?
Yes it's been reported to the FDA, CDC, Pfizer and Health Canada. There has been NO response from anyone.
Q: Is there anything that has helped, and have your symptoms improved?
No.
Q: What do you wish others knew?
Yes. If I had known that this was a possible side effect to this vaccine I would NOT have received it.
